These assumptions become mindsets that influence and map your life path. They represent who you are and - if left unchecked - they can stifle your spiritual development by trapping your thoughts into rigid patterns.

One common mindset pattern is that of being “too busy”. Our fast-paced, drive-by, speed-of-light world has us obsessed with distractions. We’re afraid that if we close our eyes and relax for just two minutes, our very Being may become extinct!

To many, the prescription to “Live in the NOW” is designed for distant monks whose chants may be as foreign to you as the mountains of Tibet. While the monks chant, we deal with schedules that hijack our thoughts the minute we open our eyes in the morning, schedules that swing us around by the tail all day before dropping us back into bed hours later – exhausted and wondering, “Where did the day go?”

Who has time to meditate, to “live in the NOW” or to “dance through life like no one is watching”? Who’s got time for Grace??? It’s not an uncommon question.

So what’s at stake here? There’s no shortage of wisdom and clichés about how to live your best life. Yet getting to work every day, nurturing your relationships, completing tasks, grabbing a quick meal and changing the sheets on your bed can fill a day. We’re being pushed over the edge by the torrential winds of our own Doing - and Having. But what’s pushing you? In other words, who is in charge of your Life?

Finding time for Grace – time for Being - is a mindset. Similar to the concept of eating more often in order to lose weight, slowing down to have more time is counter-intuitive. Slowing down to find Grace opposes our existing beliefs about Time. And yet without Grace, we allow Time to run our lives ragged, to drive us blindly into the next minute, not choosing to own our Personal Power and remain in this one…precious…Moment. Instead, we live in, “What’s next? Who’s next? Where do I go next? What am I doing next?” It’s all consuming and it depletes Life of its purest gift – You.

Finding extraordinary Grace in every ordinary moment requires being conscious of the ordinary moment in order to experience Extraordinary Grace. It requires discipline to create a habit of Grace – and our mindset is that “discipline” is hard or difficult. Where does that thought come from? We make it up!, that’s where. It takes the same amount of effort to place our thoughts in the past, present or future. So why not choose to shift our mind to this moment? Discipline, like being “too busy” is a choice, a mindset that you can shift. Are you busy? Yes! But understand that much of it is a trapped mindset, a rigid pattern you choose. It’s a trap that robs your freedom, and it steals your Grace.

Einstein’s quote is all about Miracles and Choice. The miracle of Grace is found in every precise moment, and the only moment you can truly influence is this one. So ask yourself: Are you choosing the miracle of Grace or are you too busy for miracles?

Finding the patterns hindering you from living your best life now!

http://www.worldgraceproject.com/2/post/2012/02/finding-the-patterns-hindering-you-from-living-your-best-life-now.html

http://www.worldgraceproject.com/2/post/2012/02/finding-the-patterns-hindering-you-from-living-your-best-life-now.html#comments

Uncategorized

Here's our most recent Get Graced! homework. The real work requires the Courage to be vulnerable enough to dive deep in honest inventory of your “truth”. It involves practicing Mô by continually checking on what you are making up - to make meaning of your meaning, your interpretations. This practice goes back to Finding It…Shining the light of Awareness into your darkest corners. Your life situations don’t need to be extreme; we can all improve the quality of our relationships by doing this work. Awareness leads us to our Grace.

Is what you made up a repeated pattern in your life? What might be a different interpretation of the other person’s words and actions? How might your “truth” be false? How is your past influencing your present beliefs? What filters are blocking an accurate view of others? Have you already condemned them and they don’t stand a chance with you? What do you need to let go of to shift your perception? How can you begin to assume position intent?

Listen to Terrie's audio post below entitled - Toxic Stew-Finding Your Own Destructive Patterns.
